Connect Claude to your cash position: nine read-only tools over MCP

By Michael Gardner Goodwin · June 9, 2026 · 3 min read

Bottom line: you can now ask Claude about your cash position, and it answers from your live TreasuryFlow data. It can read. It cannot change anything.

What shipped

TreasuryFlow runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Any MCP client connects to it, and Claude is the one we set up first.

Claude sees eight tools: cash position, bank connections and their health, the 13-week forecast, AR aging, vendor spend, the daily digest, and a portfolio overview for firms.

Read-only is not a setting

Every tool declares itself read-only. More important, there are no tools that move money, edit transactions, or change anything. They do not exist on the server.

So no prompt, however creative, can invoke one.

How you connect

What you can see and undo

The Integrations page lists every key and every connected app. Each one can be revoked with one click.

Every call is written to an audit log before the answer is returned, including failed sign-in attempts. Calls are rate-limited, 60 a minute by default.

What to ask

What is our cash position this morning. Which bank connection needs attention. What is due in the next four weeks. Who are our ten largest vendors.

Access follows your subscription. If it lapses, the server refuses the call instead of serving stale data.

Why we built it

The question "how much cash do we have and what is due this week" should not require opening a dashboard. Now it does not.

Our security practices are described on the security page.
