Connect your bank

TreasuryFlow reads your bank through Plaid — the same connection layer used across US fintech. Read-only, no credentials stored, disconnect anytime.

Before you start: what we can and can't do

  • Read-only. We can see balances and transactions. We cannot move money, pay anyone, or change anything at your bank.
  • No credentials. You sign in on your bank's own screen (or Plaid's secure window). Your username and password never touch our servers.
  • Reversible. Disconnect any bank at any time from Settings; you can also revoke access from your bank's side.

Connecting, step by step

  • Sign in to your dashboard and click Connect a bank.
  • Search for your institution. Tip: business banking sometimes lives under a different name than the retail brand — try both (and see Can't find your bank?).
  • Sign in on your bank's screen and approve read-only access. Many banks route this through their own OAuth page — that's expected.
  • Pick the accounts you want visible (operating, payroll, savings, money market) and finish.

Your balance shows up immediately. Transactions finish importing within a few minutes — a first connect backfills up to two years of history, which is what makes the 13-week forecast useful on day one.

Connecting more banks

Unlimited banks per company, no extra charge. Repeat the same flow for each institution; every account lands in the same consolidated cash position, tagged by role.

When a feed breaks

Banks periodically force a re-authentication (password change, MFA reset, security policy). When that happens, TreasuryFlow marks the feed as disconnected, excludes it from your headline cash number (we'd rather show you a gap than a stale figure), and shows a one-tap Reconnect prompt on the dashboard. Reconnecting takes under a minute and restores the history seamlessly.

If the connection fails

  • Make sure you're using your business online-banking login, not a personal one, if your bank separates them.
  • Complete any MFA prompt on your bank's screen — a timed-out MFA is the most common failure.
  • If the bank never appears in search, it may not be Plaid-supported yet — statement upload works day one, and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Still stuck? Email support — a founder replies within one business day.
